As a huge hot wings fan, Frank’s is a staple in my household, both the hot sauce and the more popular buffalo sauce which is what I would usually consider as the defacto Frank’s flavour.
I’d tried the McCrispy before, I found it nice, but the coating had a kind of metallic flavour that was reminiscent of hot sauces you often get in mega packs where it’s all about the heat at the expense of flavour.
So going into this I knew that flavour would be there, with the addition of hot sauce.
In reality this burger actually has a special sauce, a hot sauce/mayo blend that goes done easy to adding a more familiar and pleasant taste to the burger, but the strange metallic taste is still there.
In addition you’ve also got a large helping of jalapeños, sliced which are actually quite spicy, probably moreso than both the burger and the sauce. So you’ve got three different hot sources so fighting, none of which eye watering but all doing a little fight for dominant flavour.
It’s worth it for a novelty experience, but I’m not sure if order again.
