The Taxi Driver, GBK, Street

GBK has always been one of my favorite burger restaurants, probably because you get to choose the way your burger is cooked and typically the patties are nice and small which means you can create a nice smashburger style crust and even keep the inside nice and juicy, if that’s what you’re after.

It was my niece’s birthday in the family decided to go to GBK for some food and so perfect opportunity to sample a couple of different burgers. The Taxi Driver stood out is one that I’d absolutely love being that it was effectively a cheeseburger but with the addition of a lovely crispy onion ring and some nice creamy smoked chilli mayo sauce.

As with all burgers that have a lot of extra ingredients disburger had a spike and to be honest with a little too tall to be able to eat with your hand without cutting into pieces or dissecting entirely.

The burgers were cooked to perfection to be honest even though I asked for medium rare, my mother accidently ordered me medium well and to be honest it was a good move. The outside were had that lovely crust and the inside was still pink and juicy.

The onion ring was my son crispy and the onions inside beautifully sauteed and still very moist without even the slightest hint of char.

The burger itself had a lovely cheese sauce in addition to the slice of American cheese and the bun was very moist and fresh and very soft.

You know a good burger when you can see that the juices from the burger have started to melt into the bun and then the bun becomes soft and slightly damp and you definitely got that from this. The longer it sat the softer everything became and the moisture it became definitely a very tasty burger indeed.

In addition to the burger I also opted for two types of fries some thin cut fries and some sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries from GBK are awesome they have this lovely sweet crispy crunch yet the inside stay super soft definitely one of my favorite fries from any burger restaurant in the nearby area.

I almost forgot to mention but rather than tomato sauce this burger actually had a relish, a very sweet relish inside which just added a little bit of sweetness to cut through the fattiness of the mayo and the cheese to give an overall more balanced taste.
